Africa Business Academy
The Africa Business Academy is a scalable, engaging, and high-quality AI-driven digital educational institution built on the Qinect platform in partnership with Build Education (buildeducation.ai). Designed to meet the growing demand for world-class business education across the African continent, the Academy combines the rigour of leading global universities with deep contextual relevance to African markets, industries, and cultures.
Its content is being crafted by subject matter experts and leading academics drawn from some of the world's most prestigious business schools and universities, including INSEAD, Imperial College, Oxford University, King's College London, and University College London. This faculty collaboration ensures that learners benefit from both global best practices and cutting-edge thinking, while the curriculum itself is tailored specifically to the realities of doing business in Africa.
The first Academy focuses on the "MBA Essentials", reframed for the African context and the emerging world of Artificial Intelligence. The curriculum spans ten core domains: Leadership; Strategy; Finance and Fintech; Entrepreneurship and Family Businesses; AI and Digital Transformation; Marketing; Operations and Supply Chain; Managing Across Cultures; Sustainability, Climate and Natural Resources; and Governance, Ethics, and Anti-Corruption. Together, these subjects equip learners with the strategic, operational, and ethical toolkit required to lead organisations in fast-growing and often complex African economies.
What distinguishes the Academy is not only what is taught, but how it is delivered. Every module features case studies, role plays, and simulations grounded in local and relevant contexts, from navigating family-owned conglomerates and informal markets to scaling fintech ventures, managing cross-cultural teams, and responding to climate and governance challenges specific to the region. Learners engage with material that reflects their own environment, making concepts immediately applicable to the businesses they run, work in, or aspire to build.
Delivery takes place through the mobile-friendly, web-connected Qinect platform, which hosts digital twins of the professors, lecturers, tutors, mentors, and coaches behind the content. These AI-powered twins enable conversational learning, interactive role plays, realistic simulations, continuous assessment, personalised feedback, and impact measurement, all available on demand. This approach overcomes the traditional constraints of time, geography, and cost that have historically limited access to elite business education across the continent. A learner in Lagos, Nairobi, Kigali, or a rural community with a smartphone can engage with the same faculty and curriculum as a learner in any major African city.
Critically, the Academy is built for scale without sacrificing quality. By combining human expertise with AI-driven delivery, it can train tens of thousands of learners simultaneously while maintaining personalised, mentor-like interactions for each individual. This model also enables a price point that is genuinely affordable for young Africans, opening pathways for a far broader cohort of aspiring leaders than traditional MBA programmes could ever reach.
The Africa Business Academy ultimately aims to cultivate a new generation of capable, ethical, and innovative African leaders, equipped to drive growth, transformation, and sustainable impact across industries, institutions, and communities throughout the continent.
