Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need, protect it carefully, and are transparent about what we do with it.

Last updated: 3 March 2026

1. Who we are

Qinect is an AI-driven education company incorporated in France as a Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS). References to "Qinect", "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to Qinect SAS and its associated entities. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us.

2. What data we collect and why

Contact form submissions

When you submit the contact form on this Site, we collect your name, email address, organisation (if provided), and message. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to communications directed to us.

Website sessions

When you visit the Site, we automatically record the page URL you landed on, the referring URL (where you came from), your IP address, and a randomly generated session token. This data is used to understand traffic patterns and to support the AskQ chat feature. We do not use this data to identify individual users. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Site.

AskQ chat

When you use the AskQ AI assistant, your messages are processed by Anthropic, Inc. (the creators of Claude) via their API. Your conversation is stored in your browser session during your visit and may be retained in our database for a limited period to maintain chat history within a session. Anthropic may process your messages in accordance with their own Privacy Policy. Please do not share sensitive personal information in the AskQ chat.

Analytics (optional)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our Site — including pages visited, time spent, and general location (country/city level). This data is processed by Google LLC and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage your analytics preference at any time via our Cookie Policy page. The legal basis for this processing is your consent.

3. How long we keep your data

Data type Retention period
Contact form submissions 3 years, or until you request deletion
Website session logs 12 months
AskQ chat history Duration of browser session; database records retained for up to 90 days
Analytics data (if consented) 26 months (Google Analytics default)

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party service providers, strictly as necessary to operate the Site:

  • Anthropic, Inc. — processes AskQ chat messages via their Claude API
  • Google LLC — processes analytics data if you consent to cookies

All third parties are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law.

5. Your rights

Under EU GDPR (Regulation 2016/679), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — to request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction — to request that we limit how we use your data
  • Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (e.g. analytics cookies), you may withdraw at any time without affecting prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. We will respond within one month as required by EU GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL).

6. Cookies

For full details of the cookies and local storage we use, please see our Cookie Policy.

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure server configurations.

8. Links to other websites

This Site contains links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to this Site. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
